London, UK — 22 April 2026
A landmark performance will take place at Royal Festival Hall on 22 April, as the Philharmonia Orchestra presents the UK premiere of Dr. Jaz Coleman’s symphonic interpretation of Kashmir, originally by Led Zeppelin.
The performance forms part of Forged in Sound, a major concert event celebrating the intersection of rock and orchestral music, with a programme drawing on the legacies of artists including Motörhead, Metallica and The Kills.
Originally released in 1997 as part of Coleman’s acclaimed symphonic work Kashmir: Symphonic Led Zeppelin, this orchestral arrangement has been performed internationally but has not previously been staged in the United Kingdom. This concert marks its first UK performance.
Dr. Jaz Coleman - composer, conductor and frontman of Killing Joke - is widely recognised for his work bridging contemporary music and classical composition. His symphonic reinterpretations of major rock catalogues, including Pink Floyd and The Doors, have achieved both commercial success and critical recognition, expanding the scope of orchestral performance into new audiences and contexts.
